Visibility at the top was bad so they weren't open but now it's better.  Might have to check again.  No LWF chair so I have to waste a run on the facelift to check.  Lapping Freeway now.

I think The Slides are open.  On the facelift to check after they shut down Freeway.  They claim they're going to open LWF but when I asked before it was "down for maintenance".   Lower Thruway was great and I wanted to try Draper's but it now requires two lifts to lap.

Edit: they are open.

1 2 and 2B open gold.  Big bumps in 2B.  Headwall on 1 doesn't look worth skiing.

Anyone who has skied recently -- what do you think conditions will be like on Friday after Thursday's weather event?  I'm thinking of driving up from Gore on Friday morning for one last day of skiing with my daughters -- we haven't skied Whiteface yet.

Plenty of snow so the coverage is outstanding. 50s on thursday and mid 40s on friday. Rain showers in am friday.  West winds 10 mph with gusts to 20.

Surface should be carvable to hero with some variable.

Thinking about hitting Whiteface tomorrow.  Anyone there during the end of this week?  I was up the last two Saturdays and it was phenomenal!  Weather looks good - spring skiing conditions I hope.  Have they lost a lot of snow over the last week? Will the Slides be open?  Ski till you drop ya'all.

Zero chance of The Slides.  Tomorrow should be a nice day and they will have plenty of time to groom the summit out tonight so it should still ski ok even if it doesn't really thaw out up there.  If it does thaw out, Cloudspin is a possibility.

W Trail is still open, so all three summits are accessible.  This may be the last weekend for it though.

I really hope they're going to run the Little Whiteface lift this weekend because lapping the gondola sucks.  Without Freeway (race season is over), Draper's and Thruway require two lifts to lap (unless you like to lap the gondola), but they should soften early in the day.

Gondola having mechanical problems.  They sent the work chair up this morning.  Patrol is ready to use the facelift for their morning trail checks.  If this means the Little Whiteface lift opens on time then I'm all for it since it's not busy today.

Gondola appears to have been fixed.

Wilmington was groomed to perfection at the top, but the bottom is really thin and sketchy.  It was groomed last so I went there first.  I think this is the last weekend for it so get it while you can.

11 at summit at 7 am so we got there around 9 waiting for things to corn up.  Summit didn’t thaw until noonish.

Beautiful spring blue bird day.  A cold wind started blowing in the afternoon with a front coming in tonight.

Unfortunately there was a fatality on Upper NW.  I’m sure that was frozen up solid and never thawed out.  Not really sure why it was open though I didn’t ski it.  I doubt any local would have even considered skiing it today.

Wilderness and Skyward I think were the runs of the day.  Although Wilmington in the morning was really good it deteriorated quickly.

I guess they don't call Northway deathway for nothing.  It and Essex face due North and are high elevation and definitely didn't thaw out.  I didn't ski either, not even once.  Most of Whiteface faces east and softened nicely in the morning sun.
