Winter Weather 2017-2018

I know, but the GFS has been hinting at it for the last few days...Still a bit out there.
 the GFS has been doing pretty good in the extended..

Trying to throw these guys a bone..

Signs of a decent patter starting around Superbowl weekend, hopefully with a storm!  Pattern looks colder, hopefully we can keep the baroclinic zone near the east coast with the trough centered just to our west, would be a good pattern for the interior.

That's the weekend I was referring to.

Yes, need to get Euro more on board but the pattern would support a storm around that time ala GFS.

Can we get that superstorm on Friday?  I'll be "sick" and at GORE......

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...

Guidance indicate the initial surface system associated with the
sharp trough moving across the eastern United States should develop
and strengthen off the east coast with only light QPF across the
local area with it cold enough for snow. Fair weather then expected
with the ridging. A cold front is then expected to be on the
approach from the west Thursday with it crossing the region Thursday
night into Friday as a low moves northward along the boundary. At
this time, it appears it may warm up enough for some rain across
portions of the local area during the day Thursday and again on
Friday but less so. It`s much to early to discuss QPF and/or
snowfall however a widespread snowfall is possible.

National weather service Albany still seems somewhat optimistic to me.

That Outlook was posted at 4:55 so I assumed they'd seen the last Model runs

Sounds like a guy who, in the winter, often gets flare ups of pretendinitus.

God damit!  The high peaks are freaking grey!  Where’s the damn snow?  

Calling for snow here in CNY but nothing major. Sad, very sad

Turning quite cold over then next 10 days...Nothing major coming but you never know what might pop up..

Can't exactly tell what is going on, a southern disturbance and some lake effect in our future... ?
