Hell, it snowed in Las Vegas yesterday.

Southeast Washington has done pretty well too... found some Pillows in the sidesountry at Bluewood today.  It's good everywhere out here now!!





It looks like another cycle is on the way to the PNW for next weekend.  It's been a fantastic February out here.

Alpental forecast starting tomorrow....

....with a similar storm coming through Friday through Saturday night.

Unreal!  Wish I was there Friday/Saturday.  Looks like it will still be there for me on Monday though.  Pretty funny that I'm now going to ST game on Tuesday.

Tahoe and parts of the PNW have had ski area closures the past month because of too much snow.   Hopefully the SW doesn’t suffer the same!

I bet I-17 shuts down tomorrow until Saturday morning. This isn’t a bad thing. :D

We had a serious rain event last Thursday night and it went all the way to the ceiling. It created some blue ice traps out there (see my naz thread for details) and it’s going to be interesting to see how reactive the snowpack gets over the next couple of days. It’s a bit weird right now.

Just tired of this crap Northeastern weather..

I guess the takeaway is that, no matter where you are, everyone’s got something ski weather related to bitch about....and as a general species we are pretty good at doing just that!

As for the Northeast Weather.....mid Feb and WF, Gore, central and northern VT all pretty much 100% open, and there have been many good days betwixt and between the surface wetting events.  Sure, the Cats and So. VT down have had their struggles, but the NE goods have been out there.  

I guess the benefit of not getting a lot of days in is that every day I’ve had this season so far (days equally split between Magic, WF, and Gore) have all been great!  Like, all powder days and great coverage/options.  I’m optimistic for more great days, right through April given the NE snowpack.

So.....buck up, buttercup!

Sunday is a real problem..Ski areas will struggle to open..Moderate rain event Saturday night followed by very high winds in the mountains...

Very crusty now in the SW Adks.  Not wet. Layer of hard crust.  Would not want to alpine/Nordic/sled/snowshoe in this.   UGH

Shocking amounts of snow will be falling out west this week...Tahoe will be shut down and this will be moving into the Rockies..
Go west young man!!
