If you believe (and it is not clear) that one of the principle reasons the 2nd amendment was passed was as a check against government tyranny against the freedoms of the people than you must also believe that no weapons should be illegal. If I had the means I should be able to buy an F35 and an Abrams tank or a Nuke for that matter to prevent the government from taking away my rights.
