Where is the proof that she swung at the cop?  Is there any video evidence?

Have you searched for other videos that show the girl hitting the cop?
The video posted here clearly has something edited out when the cop 1st attempts to get her out of the chair. What was edited out ?

Can't tell if you guys are being serious or not, blaming a teenage girl who got dragged across the floor.

I wasn't kidding. She was asked to leave by 4 other people who had authority, and that's part of the problem. Kids don't respect authority. In my day if you were being a dick in school you got beaned upside the head with an eraser and your ass was dragged down to the principles office where you stayed until you decided you weren't gonna be a dick anymore. Then, if you were lucky, it stopped there. If the principle decided you were truly a dick he'd call your parents. I was always more fearful of what would happen to me at home than I was at school. Kids/people these days don;t respect authority, everyone is fuckin sue happy and refuses to take responsibility for their own actions. Our society is so soft that it disgusts me! So no, I wasn't kidding. Tase the bitch and get her the hell out of the classroom so those who want to learn can.

"Call your parents"....

Here in lies the problem...I bet this kids parents don't give a crap..now they see a big payday...

The inmates are running the asylum...These kids fear nothing, it's hard to discipline someone if he/she doesn't fear the consequences..

Maybe kids don't respect authority because because the authorities over-react so easily.
I understand that a cop can't allow resisting arrest, but I haven't seen enough context to know if that cop was justified.  the video raises a lot of questions in my mind.

What kind of school needs a full time cop?  Why do all the other students just sit and watch? What are they learning? What are we teaching them when we expect that?  Would you want your children in a school like that?

What kind of cop wants that job? Half of all cops are below average, and a few of them are just bullies or hot heads.  I'm betting that cop is below average, and somewhere on the bully/hot head spectrum. Whatever that was, it wasn't an example of excellence in police work, and it's telling that no one is really backing up the cop. I also read they put him on unpaid leave, so I assume his bosses thinks he screwed up.

Honestly. I don't know what to think. I have watched a couple different versions of the video looking for evidence that the girl resisted in violent manner. I can't find any. What I can say is that while searching, it's much easier to find evidence that destroys this cop's credibility than promotes it:

Can you find anything other than "hear-say" that promotes this officer's overall credibility?

How many times do you ask...that's right ask someone to comply with a lawful order? This girl was defiant to everyone..teacher School administrators and ultimately a uniformed police officer requesting her to get up and leave the classroom..what kind of precedence are we setting. You create a slippery slope when you selectively enforce the law..her behavior was disrespectful and disorderly. It has absolutely nothing to do with race...now the feds are investigating this as accessive force?? Come on...what have we become? We have allowed a breed of lawlessness..

Sure... there are lot's of them:

I suspect if there were any that clearly showed the girl hitting the cop, they would be easy to find.

If I had a kid in school that was being that defiant to EVERYONE she came in contact with, I'd say she would deserve to get dragged out of her chair and pancaked on the floor. Seriously! What is wrong with that?

I'm not saying that she should not have been detained and disciplined accordingly.  I am saying that the cop's actions were over the top.  The level of force used was not necessary.  It's a young girl.  I don't care how defiant she was... it's not a good example from a grown man to treat a girl in this manner.

What's wrong is that he lost his temper and threw her around so violently that she might have been injured.

If that situation was so dangerous that the cop had to react like that, why wasn't he afraid all the other students were going to go after him?

Boy, if cops in schools aren't thinking that then I'd say they should be looking for a new job. If they're thinking "this will never happen <enter any town you'd like>" then they aren't doing their job.

A life long friend of mine is one of these said cops in our local high school. It's the same school that he and I went to when we were kids. The same school that didn't lock their doors and didn't  have a metal detector at every entrance. Now the school locks it's doors and has a metal detector at every entrance. He's on guard at all times. These guys earn every penny they make! There are just too many bad / crazy people around now. In general people just need to be nicer to each other.

I disagree.  I don't think anything was removed.  Even if it was.  Even if she hit the cop, it's a grown man working with a young girl.  The force used was unnecessary.

If video evidence exists that this girl was violently resisting the cop, then I am sure it would have surfaced by now. Someone besides the cop's supervisor would have come forward and said the girl was kicking the shit out of the cop.... that's why he had to do what he did.  Right?

Again, I'm not standing up for the defiance of youth.  I think kids need more discipline.  That said, I think this is a case of a douche-bag hot head cop, overstepping the bounds of law enforcement.

Violently??? Really? Good lord......I remember being taught how to use a half nelson in wrestling. That was violent. Being dragged out of a chair and arrested because YOU DESERVE it??? People, many people tried being nice to this girl including the cop. Nice wasn't working. He did what he had to do.

We can agree to disagree but in no way shape or form do I consider his actions wrong or violent.

Watch the banner at top of video. It goes from showing completely to partially and not due to camera movement

And I'm talking about the end of the one you posted. The 1st part of that is useless
