You guys are killing me. I tried to ski this weekend but it just wasn't right.

Below 3000 kind of sucked. There was about 6" on a sometimes supportable crust

Gentlemen, please. Pornography rots the mind. Makes it impossible to think of anything else. Turns normal people into raving madmen obsessed with one thing only and willing to do anything to satisfy their perverse desires. Use discretion.

That's a nice pocket in there. I haven't skied that one before but I certainly have eyed if from across the valley.
I am still at least two weeks out, rode the bike some today and that went OK but still moving slow. I don't know if I will be able to ski again before the snow is gone.

My class got cancelled today, which meant time to go back to the high peaks! Still powder on northern aspects above 3500 feet, although I'm sure that will change with the coming rain and warm-up. The ski out was miserable on a crusty, post-holed hiking trail.

Ski Day 35 ties the record.  I'm taking it. Tomorrow at Gore FTW.

It's a little embarrassing posting a pic of the Red Trail under those shots by Captain Slide.

But... skiing is good in our woods.  90% or more is well covered, with just a few inches (10?) inches of impervious base but carvable to one inch.

Looks like 4 Turn Hill gets the most sun. Barely skiable. Still, amazing, sweet nordic on 4/10.

Thanks! The last three Sundays have been glorious, luckily I was able to get out for two of them. I'm hoping this Sunday delivers more of the same.

Skied in the high peaks yesterday for most likely the last time this year. Bluebird skies and no wind, continuing the streak of amazing weather on Sundays. Conditions ranged from hero snow to hardpack to ice to rotten mashed potatoes. All fun though. Still a decent amount of snow on high elevation north-facing slopes but everything else was cooked. Didn't put on a jacket all day. It was a great season, I'm still hoping to make it to Mt. Washington when I get out of school in mid May. Here are some pics:
