Hit a few stashed that haven't been able to get in yet this season.

Got a run down Zues.

But, deepest snow goes to Trojan woods.  was at least a foot in there.  The untracked areas from the last storm were now all nearly a foot.

damn that's the gp I know and love!

I like funny billy better than bitchin' billy! I just think the days of byob $270 season pass holders keeping a mountain sustainable are long gone and it takes a mix of us out of towners and locals with multiple cash streams - booze and food being a pretty big one - to keep em afloat. to rj's point you gotta give big al credit for having the vision.

I wanna be afloatin in those trees! no sunday for me camp but thinkin about braving those chilly temps for a ride up tomorrow morning!

I had surgery on both hands one at a time and I couldn't hold poles at the time after surgery.  I got used to riding without them and it made me better.  I don't miss them, I like having my hands free.
I can understand not using them at that time, but at this point it only helps with balance, timing, getting around the lift lines, pushing around through powder when needed and on and on and on

Maybe we should ski together sometime.

How do you propose doing this without poles. There are so many facets of skiing that are more efficient with poles

I have been looking into adjustable hiking poles for that.  Ive been interested in a touring setup for backcountry but, I just take them off and hike if Im going straight up hill.   Looks like fun though.  Think I will get them for the Tuckermans hike if I make it there this spring.

Besides I need my hands free so I can use my phone to take pictures for the ski blog and to swat branches away when I'm riding in the woods.

If you tried that in the pic I posted you wouldn't get 10 ft up the hill before you gave up. Poles have so many uses. How about standing on a steep ledge and using them to probe the snow below you? How many bump skiers you see without poles? What about the need to whack that brat in the ski line? Just seems silly not have them

Ski poles are actually more efficient for this

It also appears you could benefit from them balance wise.

This picture has you out of whack arms flailing

I think I balanced alright. I was blasting some snow on the top of a bump and coming to a stop.   Whys everyone attacking an adaptive skier?  That's just not right.

Not attacking. You stated you couldn't hold poles at that time. It's just plain silly not to use them now if you can

At no point when coming to stop should your arms be flailing over your head. Poles would help this

I also know 2 people who suffered injury because of poles this year, going down with them in their hands.  I'm never going to go back.  I have carpultunnel in both hands.  I grip them too hard and they go numb holding them.
