Nice Camp - Chair 5 tailgating is definitely one of the coolest things about GP. I think the new owners get that and will never take it away. If they did it would be a huge mistake.

Great stuff there Camper Stamper !!  Good friends , good  times , good food , brewskis and skiing , helluva combo !

Btw :   TMP still gigging in the area these days ??
Hey Warp!!

Yea, they've been around but are taking a break now. John West is currently on tour with Uli Jon Roth from the Scorpions  as Lead Vocalist, and Lonnie Park is out doing his Grammy thing. They'll crank TMP back up in the spring when Motorcross starts back up.

Yea, and to think this whole time I thought it was GP not paying their bills that ended the project.
Camp, they were actually told by the FDIC to file for chapter 11 in order for the FDIC to release funds to keep the operations going. The prior owners never missed a payment to Tennessee Financial up until that point, which is amzing considering their debt load.

In terms of Big Al's dreams, they were months away from Tennessee Financial releasing the $13M. Too bad the money wasn't released, and improvements made before the fiasco ensued.

FYI, season pass pricing is out for the 16-17 season. Passes are being priced at $399 + $25 combo (not sure what the $25 combo means).

I could care less about Tenn Fin. I was referring to their property taxes right in good ole Virgil NY. You know, like every other resident has to. And kinda like our current owners do.

The $399 + $25 combo (plus taxes, fees, etc) is only good til 3/15/16!!!!

On 3/16/16 the price goes to $499 + $50 combo

BETTER PURCHASE BEFORE DEADLINE

Wow - is the 3/16 deadline earlier than normal? Didn't it used to be mid April?

I'm not surprised they didn't raise prices. Given the season raising prices would have been a disaster.

I'm disappointed they still won't offer a family discount. That's why we went to Song/Lab this year. Looks like we'll be Song Lab homies for a while.

Given the challenging season this year, my guess is they want the cash sooner than later.

I wonder if the +$25 combo is optional. I'll save my 25 bucks and gladly skip Togg

Ahhh, that's what "combo" means. I didn't put 2 + 2 together. The big question is what the Togg passes and combo option will cost.

I also can't fathom why they would charge a GP pass-holder more to ski Togg. I see why they would charge a Togg pass-holder more to ski GP, but not vice versa. I suppose they are looking to generate revenue wherever they can.

Does anyone know if they are making snow???  I see that the Trojan and Alcmene are not open which makes me question if they have been making any appreciable snow. I'm trying to decide if I'm heading to Greek or Killington tonight. I'd prefer Greek, but not if terrain will be minimal--especially during Presidents week.

We have a great window for snowmaking but unfortunately they aren't really taking advantage. Apparently they have been blowing a little bit at night ...very little...and nothing during the day. With that said conditions haven't  been bad, in fact they have been pretty darn good the last 2 days. I'm sure that Trojan will be open for the weekend. From the quad you can see that guns are set up in the middle of the trail to blow at night and then left in place with the trail closed during the day. The connector to chair 5 was open today so no shuttle is needed. Mars Hill skiied the best that it has all year.
Everything off the quad skiied nicely with 2 or 3 spots ion Iliad that was gun pow on top of the groomed. This is the only place they blew snow off 1A as far as I could tell. They also moved the ramp for the jump bag to the bottom of Stoic. Skiing should be very good this weekend if you can handle the cold weather...

Rode up the lift with some guy, who thinks the $25 combo fee (early deadline charge) is indeed optional for those who buy a Greek seasons pass and want to also ski at Toggenburg.

(This guy also heard that the Toggenburg combo fee, added to the price of a Tog seasons pass, so that Tog passholders can also ski at Greek is going to be Huge, so that the Tog pass and combo fee will equal the price of an early deadline Greek pass.)

The skiing at Greek was great this weekend but a little cold.

I skied GP Saturday, Sunday, and this morning. First Trax was cancelled on Saturday due to electrical issues with 1A. They ultimately got it going around 8:30, but then had issues with it Sunday morning again.

Minimal snow was made over the weekend. They pulled the guns off of Alcmene Saturday morning, but dirt is still showing in places. They made snow last night on the Fields, but that was about it. Given the week ahead, one would have thought that they would have been blasting the guns around the clock, but I guess they just want to limp through Presidents week, and then let the cards fall.

Chair 2 never ran yesterday, and started around 9:45 today.

They moved the shack to the new jump back location, which required them to close Alcmene during the process. Given the new location of the jump bag, you can no longer ski the bottom of Wendy's. Not a big loss, but it does have descent coverage.

BTW, the $25 Toggenburg pass add-on is optional. I attempted to purchase next years passes, but their POS system was down, so I was turned away.

I just stopped for dinner en route to Killington. I may return to GP for the weekend if conditions hold up.
