Listen, I think it's great that GP is doing mountain biking. Anyone who does that sport on any caliber is awesome. Don't listen to me. But I do encourage you to check out some other places if you want to see real ghar.

I have ZERO interest in seeing the gnar, you dig??  I do it for the workout, I'm old and easily scared

Have you ridden the expert trail at GP??? I've been told from guys who are mountain bikers that the trail is legit.

RJ, all I know is their marketing dept has made HUGE improvements as of late with staffing. Given enough money (i have no idea what that amount is) they will get the word out. I'd imagine choosing the right avenue to get the word out is key.
I believe Jessica Sloma is now running the marketing department, and she has some good ideas for HLL. Hopefully, that will translate well to the other side of the road.

Came across this pic of Snow Crest, first ski area in Cortland County --- early beginnings of Greek Peak --- that ridge is full of hardwood trees now. Amazing what 60+ years will do.

Get the bikes ready --- what I saw this morning wasn't pretty. We'll make it through this weekend but then I'm not sure. My guess is they'll close for next week with hopes of opening one more weekend if the snow holds up. Iffy at best.

Camp - from the looks of the webcam I think they'll get  Saturday and then be done. The temps this week and the rain yesterday have just destroyed what little base there was on the CNY hills. Song and Lab aren't calling it yet but I think thats wishful thinking - I don't think they will reopen.

I wonder how season pass sales are going for next year - both at GP and other CNY hills. They must be hurting. If we could get four GP passes for $1400 out the door (i.e. - inclusive of the "resort fee") we'd probably go back next season.

I'm ready for this disaster of a season to be over. Have been on the road bike a few times this week and it feels good. Have a new MTB in the box ready to be assembled. Changing snow tires for summer tires on all 3 vehicles today.

I think they'll open Sunday too imo they have to get one more full weekend if for no other reason than the cars parked at HLL.

Maybe we can hook up this summer doing some DH biking ---- I'm slow at the biking but make up for it at the

It makes sense that they'll try for Sunday Camp - just not sure what will be left. What wax is best for mud?

I'd like to try the DH at Greek. Just picked up a Breezer Repack waiting to be assembled so I think the bike could handle the trails even if I couldn't!

I'm going with the no wax, as in skipping skiing on this crap --- been the worst year ever, fuck me!

Yea that bike will do fine. I have a specialized carve comp hardtail and I survive......you'll want elbow and knee pads as well as a full face helmet. The shit is crazy, crazy fun tho!

Camp, I think you're spot on. They will open this weekend, close during mid-week with an announcement that they will tentatively open next weekend, and then not re-open for the season.

I see on the website that the Fields and Stoic are not open, as isn't the Odyssey. I'm hoping that maybe those trails are closed in order to let the snow dry out, but my guess is there isn't any snow left to dry out. The Iliad also has to be pretty thin at the top. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend to see how it is, but won't return after that for the season.

Stopped up at lunch to hit the 50% off sale in the ski shop. It's thin, real thin ----- Illiad is the only game in town. Fields, Stoic and Odyssey are to bare to open, sure it's skiable but not for the general public. I'm starting to agree with Billy that this is it, the final weekend ---- go big or go home

Got 2 t-shirts and jacket for 97bucks

It looks like crap at GP right now. When I heard them announce that they were going to make snow last week, and that would extend their season into April, I was thinking in your dreams  IT literally looks like old man winter took a piss on GP. Everyone should come to Plattekill, and enjoy at least three very well covered slopes this weekend, along with corned beef, cabbage, and Green beer.   Huge props to Plattekill for having so much snow!
