Great skiing today!   No line at Visions, but many chairs filled.  All lifts running and grooming is nice.
Yep - great all over the hill, and no lines. Labyrinth is scratchy in the usual places.

Excellent conditions and no lines today!  Just a few thin spots in the trees.

Every time I see "Labyrinth" I have to stop and think where that is, then it's like, OK, Trojan Woods.

Does anyone know why the opening of chair 5 was delayed today? I waited until almost 10, but nothing was happening.

Where the heck was everybody today?  Conditions were FABULOUS!!!  Because of the roads, I didn't even arrive until 10:30. After one ride up the quad  with a racer, I headed over to Trojan and spent the next two hours pretty much by myself on Trojan.  No lift lines and the snow was amazing.

It's funny how everyone has a different perspective on conditions. I got there around 10 with a buddy, and found things mostly a bit crunchy. The fog on the main side was a pain in the ass with limited visibility on the top half of the hill.

After the first hour or so it softened up a bit, but honestly after Thursday and Friday I found skiing the (well) groomed trails a bit uninspiring.

It was better than being at work though.

Rumor has it that next years pass prices will be $775

that can't be true, can it?

I paid $525 at the swap sale in October.  $725 is ridiculous if that’s the early price!

Agree. I don't think that's the case. It wouldn't make sense for them to price themselves that high vs. the other local hills.

That would probably mean no GP for me. I can't believe it would go up that much.

(Edited for redundancy.)

BTW, where did you hear this foul and disgusting rumor? I would hate for it to start making its way to people on the lifts and discourage them from coming to GP.

I believe they were $425 for a single pass last spring, with subsequent family member passes dropping the overall price. My receipts are at GP, so I could be off a bit.

Camp, the $725 may actually be the price for one of their newer pass products that includes the add-ones (i.e., adventure center, mountain biking, water park, etc,) If they were to increase to $725, it would be suicide for them. The market just won’t support it even if they were to announce a significant investment.

What will be interesting to see is how they will handle pricing now that they eliminated the sleazy resort fee. They need to be extremely careful after losing folks to Song and Elk last year.

Wes indicated that passes will be sold mid-March, so we should know in a few weeks.

Seems very unlikely that would be the early pricing Camp. Would be back to Song/Lab for me for sure. With the kids in college I probably wouldn't even get passes for them at that price.

I could see GP trying something like a 5% increase from last year, keeping the same fee structure for family passes. They would lose a few people but probably not 5%. But really it's hard to tell...it's not as if it's been a great season weather wise and that always seems to make people question their pass purchase for the next season.

yep -- that has to be it. that makes sense. if a person can take advantage of everything greek has to offer i think that pass is of good value

as you mentioned we will know for sure in a couple weeks.

Didn't ski Greek today but flew from Cortland to Ithaca to bust the rust off and stay current. Thought I might as well make a small detour on the way back and see how Greek looked as well as take a couple pictures. Obligatory plane shot

Did anyone ski GP this weekend?

Webcams looked like kind of a shit show, and I didn't imagine the conditions were very inspiring, so I skipped it. This week is going to be brutal on them. The website shows very little open as it is.

March better deliver or a lot of people are going to be questioning the value of a season pass in central NY.
