Seems like preventative maintenance isn't in the budget.
Don't get me started on that topic.  When a light falls off of a pole, a snow making fence blows away, or a tree falls down, they simply ignore it. While the new owners have been making annual investments, I also wish they would focus on the "shabbiness" factor.  They replaced trail signage, which was a good thing, but how about getting some paint on the lifts before they rust away to nothing, and doing some additional preventive maintenance work off-season to spruce the place up. We're not talking major expenditures.
Your buddy Al started that trend --- maybe talk to Wes?

FWIW,, did you not see all the improvements made regarding the shabbiness over this past summer or are we just skipping over them.
New pavement, new coats of paint, new stone in the walkways, new signage, etc etc

50 years of neglect will take time

There are lights there?

Al is pretty much out of the picture at this juncture, and Wes now has two bosses. You are way too hard on Wes and Al. They accomplished quite a bit in 60 years.

I did give credit to the new owners for the new signage and incremental improvements. It definitely helped spruce up the trails. Yes, they also painted the beams under their beloved Trax deck. I keep forgetting that the new focus of Greek Peak is the restaurant/bar, with the ski area being a secondary function. Meanwhile their lifts are rusting away. Keep in mind that the only lift painted since the change in ownership is chair 3.

When a light falls down, why aren't the new owners repairing it? You can't blame that on Wes and Al. Nearly the entire head-wall on Zeus is unlit due to missing lights. That was not the case six years ago.

That's so you can't see the rocks you're skiing over!

Sure, ok
Should we talk about the 3, or was it 4 ski areas they ran into bankruptcy or maybe concentrate on all the property taxes that were never paid to the town of Virgil.

I will be at Greek Peak on Thursday for their Telefest. Everyone come out, demo some Tele gear, and make the best of a bad weather cycle.

If the skiing isn't great, you might as well try to learn something new!

Demos & Lessons go into the evening as well, if some of you have to work during the day.

It's kind of like the new owners purchasing The Foggy Goggle, I mean Toggenburg.

I only recall Greek Peak closing/bankrupting 1 other ski area... It was near Stamford in the Catskills and it was named Scotch Valley then Greek changed the name to Deer Run ski area. So besides the Scotch Valley/Deer Run ski area who else did they close?

Thursday??? Don't you tele dudes have jobs??

Just kidding --- too bad the weather isn't going to cooperate for you guys, but hopefully the fun factor will still be there for all who can make it.

MC, man I'd love to buy you a beer in Trax that night but it's my future MIL's B-day so we will be out to dinner.

That's because I'm leaving for Colorado, where there is little to no snow in the forecast in the next week

That's OK Billy and Jason, you'll have a much better time in the wild west. We're heading out in a couple of weeks.

I see that Accuweather increased the snow total to 8-15 inches. I was on the fence about going to Killington this weekend, but they are only calling for 1-2 inches.  Greek it is!

Whats with Chair 4????? Is it broke down for the remainder of the season???  Unfortunate timing with a big dump coming.

I was told 3 differnt things:
It's closed for routine maintenance
A part is being shipped in
It's done for the season
