Kleetus
I have about 130 hours total. Got my certificate 10 years ago. Flew pretty regularly right after I got it and then took about a 5 year hiatus due to cost. Got back into flying again 2 years ago.

Friday night was hardpack and ice.  No fun.  The hill guys did a good job getting groomed and ready for Saturday.  I didn't partake in the Winterfest activities, but lift lines were long and Trax was packed at lunchtime.

Should we start predicting closing dates?

I skied both Saturday and Sunday. I wasn't going to bother, but I had left my skis for a tune up and had to pick them up. Trojan was actually pretty good, once you avoided a couple of ice slicks.  I ended up staying there for a couple of hours iwth pretty much no lift line.  Iliad looked downright nasty with ice in the middle.

On Sunday, I arrived at chair 5 right as it opened and pretty much stayed there.  They hadn't groomed but there was about 4 inches of fresh powder from the night before.  It got skied of pretty quickly, but I found that if I stayed at the very left edge, things were ok.  The actual best run I had was skiing over from chair 5 to chair 4.  The one run down Trojan sucked, so I finished off a few more runs on Mars hill.

I'd hate for that to happen too!

It's just SO unfortunate that we keep hitting the reset button around here. The Lodge looks full, I feel so bad for those folks. That said, they're on vacation and I'm sure they'll be making the best of it.

It's only Feb --- wait until March, it can't stay like this for too long can it?

I skied Saturday, Sunday, and yesterday. Skiing was much better than I had expected. I assumed that Trojan and Upper Mars would be wiped out, but they must have made snow earlier in the week. We picked up a few inched of snow overnight on Sunday, so that softened up conditions.  The rain started around 11:00AM yesterday.

The lodge ran close to 100% occupancy, and Trax was hopping. The ski area parking lot was not as full as I've seen it in the past, and lift lines were hit or miss.

I'm looking at a little fog on the mountain right now. I'm going to enjoy my breakfast, answer some emails, and head home in a bit. Not certain what my plan will be for next weekend.

My girlfriends sister and her 2 boys were in town yesterday for a visit so I decided we should take them to the water park. The boys had an ABSOLUTE blast!!! It was my first time in the water park and I must say I was impressed. The place was mobbed with kids and parents having fun. It was balls hot in there, too hot for me, so I hit the bar. I met all kinds of people there who were on vacation. They all had very positive things to say about the Hotel and Greek Peak as a whole. I told one guy I felt bad for him due to the weather. His comment ---- " is this bar going to run out of beer?" I said no way! he said " my kids and wife are happy to be swimming and I'm drinking a beer so I couldn't be happier". We both laughed and had a shot of Jack Fire.

I'm hoping we get some more snow!

Camp - what's the hill look like? I can't see that webcams through the darn firewall !

Can't be looking too good.

There should be a ton of snow here the first week in March, since that's when I'll be In Colorado!

Here is a screen shot of the webcam from Wed. 2/21/18 at 4:20 pm. Base was softer on Tues. BUT on Wed. morning I got out on the hill at 10am Although the temp was 52 degrees the machine made base was doing weird things... it was super firm and turned into a kind of frozen crud which was resisting melting at 52 degrees.

So...after a shitty season (not GP's fault), customers have to compete to get the best pricing? And only the first...what, 10% get that?

No I don't think so. I'll enjoy skiing at Song and Lab next year.

Kids will both be in college. Got them passes this year at Greek...but also, not next year if that's the shit they're going to pull.

Oh but geez...next year Greek will have 78 trails.

Easy there cowboy

If in fact it's true it's good marketing on their part.

Sales 101:

Create urgency then extend the sale due to an overwhelming response.

Bet you a shot and a beer in Trax that's how it goes down
