A bit of a shift east...

Way too far out still...but I like this map.

What I don't like is how I will get to Gore Sunday AM if this materializes. My place in Old Forge is about an hour drive from Gore with good roads...they don't do a great job plowing them after a big dump on weekends...I don't have an AWD car...also at the end of a 1/4 mile driveway that neighbors don't plow. Was contemplating getting a hotel closer Sat night but they are booking up.

Can always head to McCauley Sunday as a backup, but really was hoping to score a Gore pow day. We shall see what happens.

IMO McCauley would be a great call for Sunday.

Maybe Glenn Falls would be a good option?  Seems to me they wouldn't fill up, and they are right on 87.  You would still have a bit of a way to go to get to the mountain . . . .

I'm paying for my deal with the devil. My all seasons have probably 10 or 15k summer miles left on them, but they are inadequate for any kind of real storm.

I have not made plans

Even though the axis has shifted the highest QPF a little east (looking at you, Magic).....the good news seems to be that the storm isn't showing any signs of going anywhere, and any potential mixing may be off the table.  So, it looks like it will happen, and be all snow.  Hopefully it stays that way and we just spend the next few days dialing in the amounts.  Widespread 6-12, with upwards of 20 in places.  We all get lucky, but who gets really lucky??

In related winter weather news, this bodes well for our little corner of skidom....

Oh, and I just made an appointment with Mavis to have a new set of tires put on the Jeep tomorrow!

All seasons for this suburban flat lander. I rely on 4wd and my woodchuck upbringing to get me there. I just happened to be replacing them today- should have done it a month ago (at least)

No snows here, either.  A/T tires on the Jeep.  I know the Duelers won’t pass inspection at the end of the month, so replacing them before I drive north into a big snowstorm seems like the prudent thing to do!

I ended up in a snowbank in Placid a bunch of years ago when the tires on the Volvo had iffy tread.  Don’t want a repeat....
