As mentioned elsewhere, in the long run the current forum will be archived and a new forum will take it's place. (You will be able to access the old content, but not post there.) Right now this is looking like next summer.
We tried to find a way to automatically import all of the old content, but because the Nabble database is oddly formatted there is now way to do this. Eventually I personally am likely to manually pull over my favorite posts (TRs) and repost them in the new forum. It's not a whole lot of work to do a single post, and moving them over will ensure that if/when Nabble is abandoned, the content will live on. Regarding the rest, there are thousands of posts, so... no way all will get pulled over. I've decided that I will also pull over a limited number of other posts that people believe are classics. If you see at TR or other post you think is awesome and Hall of Fame worthy grab the Nabble link, and post it here. No guarantee I will include it, but I will consider it.

Can we just automatically include all of James’s? Trying to pick out the best ones will be hard.

James' TRs will all be moved over. He and I have discussed this already.

Not that my TRs are all that hall of fame worthy, but I did put a lot of pics in a couple of them and one is a fairly unique location that isn't covered on this forum and likely won't be anytime soon (Ski Land, AK).
The Chamonix one may be worth saving, as there aren't as many Euro TRs as the US ones. Alaska - Ski Land https://forum.nyskiblog.com/Ski-Land-AK-4-15-18-td4125718.html Chamonix/Courmayeur https://forum.nyskiblog.com/Chamonix-Courmayeur-2-20-23-18-td4120745.html This one from Colorado covered a bunch of different places and had alot of pics https://forum.nyskiblog.com/Aspen-Snowmass-Arapahoe-Basin-Colorado-FEB-2017-td4102538.html
Skiing is not a sport, it is a way of life.

I almost nominated your AK trip earlier but the link wasn’t working and then I had to run my kid out to do something. Those definitely deserve to be preserved

Or maybe on the condition that you make it easier on the old man by following directions... :)

Hey Campy, thanks for the HoF vote. Here is the link you were trying to post: https://forum.nyskiblog.com/Tales-from-the-Hinterland-2017-2018-edition-td4115146.html Snow in the air today! SBR

SBR, my man! Snowed here as well, well, it was graupel but I'm calling it snow just because this is the internet and I can do that!
I tried like a bastard to get that link to work. Looking forward to this years edition of the Hinterland shenanigans |
Hey, If it was 1/1024th snow you can call it snow.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

That's a heavy lift bro! I'm thinking I will do the original post. Have decided if I would do the comments, and honestly not sure it can be done. Maybe it can. In Nabble you can't post as someone else. Might be possible in the new forum not sure.

SBR... we need to have TFTH represented. Do you think you could compile a greatest hits or something?
I'll be in the car Friday PM maybe we could talk by cell.

The first post of last year's thread would be a good example of a "greatest hits" post. With that, there are links to each season's thread and a coule of individual TRs...For example, this link just to the OP: http://forum.nyskiblog.com/Tales-from-the-Hinterland-2017-2018-edition-tp4115146.html Or that page could be easily converted into a stand-alone new post in the HoF thread.

This trip report easily should have easily won the Plattekill free lift tickets challenge. But hey you know what if you are a half way decent skier your money is well spent every time you buy a lift ticket and ski Platty!
Want to spend special time with your children, teach them to ski or snowboard. The reward will be endless!
