Freaking great day at Plattekill today...almost a powder daize.  Happy Birthday Ski with Harvey.  Manmade was really nice and the other was really really nice...Nirvana.  You won't be disappointed if you ski Plattekill this weekend...and if the lake effect plume sets up right you may have yourself some freshies

Plattekill was great today! Nice skiing with you, Harvey...and others. Blockbuster, while a wee bit rough around the edges, was a whole lot of fun. Should be even better tomorrow.

Guns were an issue, stoke was another.

They'd left all the loose snow on top of North Face, which IMO was the right move.  

They'll groom that for sure. Actually saw them doing it as we drove out tonight.

Block was tower guns and huge piles with a strip of most natural at skier's far left.

Fun to be had in a lot spots.  

Also Marcski I told the Stratton joke to some guys who were marveling at the new bathroom.

Block was skiing great all weekend. Guns going top to bottom on Saturday and by Sunday he was still blowing towards the bottom. The whales must have been thirty feet tall in places. Laz actually got out towards the end of the day yesterday to make a few laps with his kids. I was out there with my little one and skied over to him and said "I'm no crazy environmentalist, but save the whales, Laz!"

January 30/ Friday clipper called for few inches turned in 10 what amazing day all for 20$ man when it at platty life is awesome.

Im looking for a powder day tuesday at Platty

Hof, certain aspects were better than others in the woods today, the wind is doing some crazy stuff at the mountain but overall conditions are extremely good. Soft, edgeable, and loose snow everywhere... even some pow bumps. Have fun, if it's like today add a layer to the kit or leave the jeans and starter jacket at home!

Indeed it was!  Bummer the private party on Mon got to it first...but it's all good.  

I second skiwnw. Yes, it was not smooth as glass on the triple, but still plenty of fresh to work on the edges of the main runs.  The double was definitely less skied and the woods were divine.  I slipped under a buried log and ejected from both skis plus lost a pole.  All three items were totally covered by snow with the second ski taking nearly 10 minutes and the pole nearly 30 to find... I haven't had to engineer an S&R operation like that since I was in Silverton, Colorado !!  Yes, it was that deep.  Oh, and did I mention the absolutely gorgeous weather?  I understand the controversy but it was definitely overblown.  While I heard some grumbling in the lodge and I respect that for people who took time off of work it wasn't entirely what they expected, all I heard on the mountain was whoops and hollers.
