Whiteface Conditions

Another great day! Cloudspin was my pick, with everything off the mountain run area being a very close second. Never skied those trails with 0 ice anywhere and it was packed powder bliss. Lower Sky was great also and glades were still very powdery.

Slides opened at 230. I had left by then and didn't have the avvy gear, but thegreatabyss did and got to score his first slide run!

Great weekend, felt like I was almost skiing in Colorado again like last weekend conditions were that good!

Nobody mentioned anything about Lookout Below. What was that like this weekend? Anybody ski it?

Lookout Below closed yesterday, looked like for good reason.

Lower Parkway was great once the training was done.  Skied W first thing - wall to wall, top to bottom was great.  I've never corduroy that good on it.

DUDE this was YOU? Lol thats me!  This is funny.  That's a picture of me sending TheGreatAbyss his photos he posted here after meeting him randomly when he buddied up with me and my friend to get into the slides.  Had no idea he was on NySkiBlog until just now when I saw this post with his picture that I took.

apparently I missed a all time great WF pow day

In the 31 years I've been skiing at Whiteface, Friday morning was the all time best, and possibly on par with the best powder of my life, anywhere I've skied west/Europe/etc between depth and overall snow quality.  We were there early Friday morning, coming down Wilderness it was knee to thigh deep, and LIGHT.  I have a great video of this, not sure how to post it here.

We hit it late, probably one of the last to go in, but maybe 5 or 6 other people outside of ski patrol were in there.

I'll work on that story tonight

A little jealous that this is the second time this year I’ve missed Slides opening by a day!  Oh, well.

I saw this guy overhearing my phone convo when my friend called me to say "go get your pack" cause I heard him ski off any say "crap mines in the car" guess he realized that slides were def a go after hearing a rumor...I go out to my car to get my pack, get on the shuttle bus to return to lodge, and sitting there is the same dude I saw ski off to get his pack...it was pretty funny we both ran to get them from the car at the same time then linked up on the shuttle then on the blog here.  I think we made it just in time before they were going to sweep them for the day.

Missed it unfortunately.  I was at a client meeting in Montreal Friday

I also missed out on the slides yesterday
Had left my pack in the car. They opened them really late like around 1:15 and I had left my any gear in the car.  It was too late by the time I realized they were open
