Yeh haha - this crew is mostly a bunch of professional drinkers...I'm prob one of 2 or maybe 3 of us who actually care about the condition of the surface.

Unfortunately the models aren't budging from the warm up rain..

That said, it looks like Feb is going to be cold and might I add relatively snowy..

a little squall just came thru and dumps a couple of inches in about 2 hours near WF.  From the radar looks like it may have been lake effect.

WF webcam currently showing its snowing.......headed up in the am.

Conditions page showing 4 inches in the past 24.  Any little bits are welcome, could be a nice weekend.

May not amount to too much.....but every time I check the webcam it's still snowing.

Any chance the extent of warm air next Wed isn't as bad as it was originally thought?  Forecast highs seem a little cooler today and, while they valleys and lower elevations will get r*in, M-F is keeping the temps up high a little lower, even forecasting some summit snow?

Nobody's better at being foolishly optimistic than I am!!

Reality.....even though this is a bad weekend for the fam to get away skiing, I'm ditching them (not my commitments!) and heading to WF solo this weekend because next weekend is probably going to be $hit.  Warm, r*in, freeze, and no time to resurface for the weekend....no thanks.

This is (hopefully) going to be a good weekend at WF.  Making snow all week, 4-6 new in the past 24, U/L Wilderness, U/L Mac, U/L Sky, Niagara online this week.   Warm temps and sunshine on Sunday.  Oooh, yeah.

I'm hoping that Hunter's new administration committes to keeping Annapurna open.  The previous administration would never have opened it or Westway in a year like this, and if they did, would have let it go after 1 thaw and make no attempt to resurface or even groom.

Man, what is it with the weather. I was just putting together a little weekend to Lake Tahoe in 2 weeks and then you post those maps, FknA! This year sucks more than Linda Lovelace.

That is all I gots to say...

So as I await my departure on a round trip journey to New Jersey today (read: no skiing) I am looking at weather models for some hope.  The Euro has the temperature dropping after the wet day mid week and if it can be trusted, the GFS medium range is showing the potential for a blockbuster on or about Monday February 8.  Not a big fan of the GFS but it does show some hope and maybe prayers, positive vibes, a sacrifice to Ullr or 2, and we can get this thing to happen...

Man, I hope you're right.  The SO and I are headed up to VT for a 5 day ski trip starting at Mt. Snow on Monday and ending at Smuggler's Notch on Friday.  We're bringing our fat bikes with us as back up.
