Freezing rain here in CNY

Yup, after this weekend and early next week, winter returns beginning Thursday and looks to stick around for a while.  Hitting Plattekill next weekend, so perfect timing.

This is pretty cool.

We have prime snowmaking weather and yet Mount Snow, and their famed “most powerful snowmaking system in the east” is idle. Any ideas why? I know they may have delayed making snow over the holiday weekend, but why not start tonight? Their base is very thin in many places, and dirt and grass were definitely exposed on Sunday.

the 18 z spun up 2 super storms over the next 2 weeks..lets wait and see

The pattern is not a good one, however we are at peak climo and there is a chance we run a gradient pattern with marginal cold yielding rain on the coast and maybe something else in the mountains

Just checked the 10 day forecast for North Creek, next Saturday and Sunday show snow and 36 degrees. That's what this weekend looked like last week and it went to shit. Hopefully not another repeat...

it's in fantasy land so who know what will happen..

I hear tale of a big NorEaster on 2/2 but if so - rain or snow??

I'm not ready to pull the plug just yet. Still have Feb and March to go and we always seem to hit our avrg snowfall yr over yr.
