This keeps up and we'll be moving south

Can't imagine fishing, boating, and mt biking all the time would be all that bad

my wife keeps saying if your only going to ski a handful of days a year, move south and plan a ski trip out west for two weeks. hard to argue with that logic after the past two winters.

This not a bad plan...I'm tired of the so so eastern skiing.

the last 2 weekends i MTB..So much cheaper and less stress..No traffic to really deal with , no lift lines, lift tickets and no crowds , just the peaceful woods..

As I get older my tolerance for the above has diminished significantly..
Platte is a great choice for me, unfortunately the weather gods haven't been kind to them this year..

Yup.

I’ve been camping for work this winter and I don’t love being cold anymore. Once Cody is in college I could almost hang em up and explore new activities.

Re: Winter Weather 2019-2020

JTG4eva!
Uggghh....for the Daks and NoVT looks like a shot of snow Wed night into Thurs am (maybe 4-/+), followed by sleet and freezing rain (enough to get everything wet and slushy), followed (maybe?) by snow Fri morning, with snow showers into the afternoon.  If it snows Friday, no real sense on how much (could be light, could be heavy, and the temp gradient will be tight).

So, a shit show of a forecast that will include some mess and could be a disaster for Saturday, or could deliver  an epic Friday/Saturday?  What to do?

See how wifey responds to my thoughts of chasing to CO this weekend, that’s what....

Whatchya thinkin? Where’s it gonna hit the hardest?

I’m headed to New Mexico on the 14th and although it’s a ways out the forecast is looking very promising.

Hardest?  Tossup between Alta/Bird and CO Front Range.  Always bet on LCC....but I can’t get a decent fare into SLC.  Breck/ABasin could see upwards of two feet thru Friday night, so I could settle for that!

RZ your area of the country is very intriguing. I am headed back to Tempe in March. spent a week there last March. I could of golfed or skied up in flagstaff (2.5 hrs away) any of the days I was there. Plus the options of heading to Southern Colorado or New Mexico by car are there. I am sure cheap flights bring SLC and the rest of Colorado into play. definitely on the radar for retirement.

It helps that I am smarter then her. year one of retirement I will head to Florida for Feb and March. That gets her off my back and allows me, with the help of mother nature, to ski all of January and April in the north east. Still 2-3 years away and counting.

That has to be the most pathetic quote ever on this forum.
