Winter Weather 2016-2017

Looking like upwards to an inch of rain Saturday night and another 1/2 inch next week. Gonna be a long mud season if this keeps up

Yea, it friggin blows. FINALLY - just 10 days or so ago it was all " woo hoo!!!", got snow, everything open, all nicey nice,,,,, then the crap hit the fan and hit it hard.

Next week looks quite a bit better to me than this week. I'm not getting any hopes up for march, but I think we will still be skiing through most if not all of March.

Mud season for me means I get more indoor work done.

Also, just for shits and gigles, I bid on this thing on the intrawebz for 200 bucks and somehow won. Now I'm stuck with it. Its going to make a crap load of snow for me next season If,I can find a bigger motor to pull it. Also gonna need a bigass flywheel to slow the speed down on it. Looks like it's time to get a real gun now.

I am starting to lean toward a active first half of March...Stay tuned, this should be interesting..

Flowers are popping up. Witch hazel's blooming. If it gets any warmer I'm taking my drop top for a ride.

That's sickening. I saw the temp in Wilmington was 59 degrees this morning....insane.

70 degrees in the Hudson Valley right now

Saw the first Robin over a week ago, not a good sign.

This weather is making me sad.  The emotional ups and downs of an eastern skier...it's too much to handle.

Maybe Harv will change the thread title to put a strikethrough on 'Winter.'  At least until the Wx guys give the all-clear.

Yeah I think so too. I hope Whiteface blows snow once more on Hoyts, and LBO and maybe a couple spots on the lower mountain to improve what could be a good late winter/spring skiing experience.

Yeah all the critters are coming out this week. Just when I got home, I saw my dog attack a skunk which obviously sprayed The dog. My dog broke the skunk's neck but did not kill it so I had to finish the damn thing off with a 22. My dog was a complete mess of mud and skunk spray, and so is my yard.  The snowpack is deteriorating quickly.  If things just stayed cold, I wouldn't have had to deal with this disaster.

That stinks. I'll be curious as to how you rid rover of his smell. Good luck.

I gave the dog a bath with vinegar and vanilla, and it seemed to work pretty well. Still there is an underlying odor in her fur. The skunk itself is in the woods for the coyotes to snack on tonight.
