What do you have against women, sounds like Democrat double speak.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

Long range has already changed since yesterday.  Probably shouldn't really worry about it at this point.  If we get to the 10th and the forecast doesn't show good snowmaking temps past that, then I'll start to worry a lot about not being able to ski WF till December.

what a miserable day down state..40 and rain...yuk   looks like a nice snow for the upper elevations..

Long range still isn't encouraging..
The PNW might be in for a crazy storm cycle...If I were Nepa I would be real excited..

Yup... storms coming through every 12 to 24 hours for the next week, freezing levels are not quite low enough for this one either... the volcanoes will be pummeled, the upper basins of the ski areas may see a benefit, but nothing good at the lower elevations (<5K).

Upper basin at the Ridge this morning (6750ft)... a windblown 4-6 inches above 6k in the past 24hrs

My back yard 4 miles away and 3300ft lower... 1200 ft below the base at Mission.  Between my house and the snow line... it's hardcore mud season... no biking, no hiking, no nothing...

Stevens Pass (+/-) 50 miles West of me @ 4200Ft

We have been in the a good pattern for precip for the past several weeks... now we just need some cold air.

No good snowmaking temps on the LP long range.  This had better change soon.

Yea we wouldn't want it to get cold around Thanksgiving and inconvenience your family plans.

Or what Sno?

You have a lot to learn about patience young man. Life is going to be rough if you don't learn to except what is and go with the flow.

Considering the kind of season that last year was, and that I ended up finishing early, I don't think it is unreasonable that I'm more anxious than average to get started this year.  Having a new (and much better) home mountain also has something to do with it.

It looks like WF could make snow during the day at the elevation of LWF, but trying to go to the bottom will be tricky.  Although Whiteface has very high summit elevation, and respectable elevation on Little Whiteface, the base is only at 1200 feet, which is only slightly higher than Killington's Skyeship base, which doesn't typically open till late December.  Last year, Z criticized them for trying to force an opening at low elevation instead of opening the higher elevation terrain with downloading on the gondola.

The Scotty Jack is an elusive creature, much like an ADK Mountain Lion you'd never know he was there until he decided you were going to be dinner... And that would be too late.  I thought I saw him on top Good Luck one afternoon while mountain biking... Maybe it was the Runner's High from the climb, maybe it was small token of his scent being in the wind.. or it could have just been his spirit dancing through the forest.  SJ knows all.

He's probably got candid photos of you.
The day begins...  Your mountain awaits.
