Fall Weather 2018

Gore is 70 miles/75 miles so been doing that trip every weekend day/holiday past 12 plus years.  No traffic the whole route.  Build in some WF days of course too.  

Good location to hit Woods for night or Snow Ridge when the Lake Effect gives them 3'    

Toughest part of living here is having the conversation on the Gore Gondi with people that ask "so where ya from"?  Not many hear of Speculator,  most Utica, but none know of the vastness and remoteness in between really Gore and Hinkley.  

Yeah, I figured Woods and Snow Ridge would be your closest.

I drive right through your way when I go to Gore or Garnet Hill.  My two favorite parts of the drive are in between HInckley and Speculator and in between Speculator/Wells and Baker Mills... except the time a full log truck veered out of his lane coming head on and almost put me in the Sacandaga, but, hey, he didn't!

Yeah, the area you guys are talking about is remote. Rt 8 is da bomb ---- used to love ripping thru there on my bike to visit my Grandparents in Bakers Mills.

It gets even more remote when you head north into the Siamese or south into the Wilcox.  I've done plenty of skiing in both and it's always been great.

Bakers MIlls is another area I'd love to have a house.  The real reason I wouldn't retire or move there is proximity to a hospital.  Other than that, I like it a lot.  I'd love to have a nice remote place in the Bartman Rd area.

When I was 7 I took a fall while visiting my Grandparents. Long story short I needed stitches. My grandparents neighbor raised sled dogs (he raced in the Iditarod) and was his own Vet. He stitched me up  due to the fact is was over an hours drive to the nearest hospital. I love Bakers Mills.

What is very interesting is that the sun has gone silent as far as sun spots and solar storms lately. Although we are due for a solar minimum, this one looks like solar output will be lower than normal. We could be in for a stretch of some very cold winters.

Love Bakers Mills?   Am I missing something other than the best laid smoothest asphalt in the park now that 8 is repaved there ?   And the valleys in the road by chati pond are finally gone yea!

It's quiet and somewhat remote yet 10 mins from Gore.  

Come on ALY get on the bus, please.

Well maybe wishes do come true.  Killington in the wheelhouse, but northern New York is getting in on the action.

I wore shorts yesterday... it's pretty depressing down here.

5-10 inches from Gore to Whiteface looks good.  Highest amounts above 2k feet.  

The central greens and whites should grab 5-10.  I was speaking to a client in Warren VT this afternoon and it had already changed over at 1000'.

Raining at 1000feet in the Adirondacks at 10:22. Warm out.

2 inches of dense snow in the driveway so probably 4-5 at WF.  A real good base builder snow!

We got slammed here, 10-12" here at my HQ and still snowing

The maps i saw did look wheelhouse-ish for Gore.
