Re: Gore Today

Adk Jeff
We (me, wife, 6-yr-old son) rode the triple a few times yesterday and I guess we just lucked out with our timing as it was less windy than we expected.  Sure, it was brutal at the very top  just like virtually every day, but otherwise it was fine.  It was probably a matter of expectation:  we expected to be blasted, but gave it a try anyway.  Pick of the day for me was Showcase - actually all 3 of us were in agreement on that - and the triple chair works well for skiing that & Twister.

Well, all I can say is best day this year!
I would say total about 7-8" but denser than the last storm. The woods are almost there, we need another 6" or so and we will be in business. The mountain should be in fantastic condition for the coming holiday weekend, so come on up and get it!
Gotta go to know

We'll have 11 lifts and a shuttle bus running tomorrow also.

We may be able to open Darby Woods soon.

Emily's Crystal Ball.

The answer to your ? is no.

Whacked, eh?

The new snow was nice today until enough sleet/r**n/crap fell late afternoon and made the "powder" heavy. More crap fell during " prevening " and dusk, even while it was snowing, at least here at X18. The snow in my yard now has a layer of crustage on it.

6 " of new snow here. 1/4 " of crust.

That ought to make some nice base. More snow this week and potentially a big storm next week...fingers crossed.

I'm postponing Gore this weekend for next weekend. We have plenty of snow here to keep me happy for another weekend. I will let the woods get more packed base for another week and then, hopefully it will be full on tree skiing for me. In the meantime, we are skiing the trees here, so I might as well ski it while its there.

Yup! I'm a big fan of the Bosom!

So, Anyways, today featured another 3-4 inches of fresh medium density pow, and just about everything is skiing AWESOME!
All of you weekenders fear not, there is a lot snow up here, and you will find plenty of pillows to enjoy. Snowmakers have started on Chatiemac, Eagles Nest(the interconnect), and Oak Ridge. The Hudson Triple at the Ski Bowl will be spinning next week. Hopefully with the decent natural base we have now, it will be quick job for our
OUTSTANDING SNOWMAKING TEAM.
It's full on kids, time to RUN-A-MUCK!!!

Gotta love the Bosom. It's only natural.

My info says Shaman's info is very good.

Gore this news from Gore.  Big News IMO:

"Glades are great. Everything is. Snow stopped, skies are now blue. Another 2-4" tonight and tomorrow.

Snowmakers on Chatiemac. They will be on Oak, PV, and Eagle's Nest over the weekend.

Planning tentatively for soft opening mid week next for Hudson Triple and Grand Opening Saturday 1/29."

There was never a real problem with the High Peaks Chair. It ran as schedule today.

There was a minor problem at the end of the day Thursday, but yesterday's off day looked planned.

Great day. Bone coming soon.
