Summer is the joint!  Well it used to be anyway, not so much anymore with the MTB and all.

You have a camp near Gore Mountain.

Many monster bucks have been shot there for hundreds and hundreds of years. You should take up hunting.

Just sayin

If you'd hunt the siamese I would hike out with some knob creek.

radam,

You and your Dad may spend quality time driving back and forth from Syracuse discussing the turns you could have had elsewhere.  Sorry to say, Gore is borderline burnt toast (not Ridge).  I skied K-Mart Wednesday, 12/9, conditions were real good for the 25 Trails ( 6 ways down) they had open, but that was so two days ago with no weekend crowd and winter-hating weather.  Whiteface also skied well today, with 10 trails, three ways down,(hike Victoria, three disconnects) 54 Degrees @ 3:30.  Da' Face will be tenuous at best come Sunday.

Ma Nature has dealt us all a bust hand so far this year.  You and your Dad make the call, it's who you ski with, not the hill or conditions that make the memories.

All the best.

I can't believe Gore will be open tomorrow.

Substantial NFP and 48 degrees in North Creek right now.

Great shot, but it would be even better if those clouds were bringing 24 to 36 inches of new snow.  Getting on a plane bound for the EC tomorrow... may the cold and snow will follow me from the PNW.

That's so sad.  Our tax dollars are being washed down into the Hudson.

+1

I don't know how that rapidly disappearing base is going to help when the snow eventually comes, if ever.

That's sad, a lot of people go down there in the spring to view those trees and they're probably going to be really messed up in a few months.... plus, everything else on this planet.

Been snowing on and off all day about halfway up Bear.  Guns have been running on Ruby, Fox, Showcase and Sunway from the top down to the snowline.

That's all I got.

The snow didn't anoumt to much but the skiing is fun. Sunway to Quick Silver was closed today Showcase is skiing like a glade, bumps, rocks, and bare spots. But I'm having a great time on it. The snowmakers coverd up some of the thin spots with the small window of time they had.
