So passes were on sale before they intended them to be? Funny.

Chair 5 will open at 8:30 on March 10, with free parking, so we can play and watch those crazy Spartans run up Odessey carrying 50 pound on their backs. I skied last year when they had the Spartan race. They did their thing, skiers and boarders did ours. It worked out fine.
Great news. If I recall they didn't have free parking last year which created a bunch of noise from some people. Glad to hear they are willing to mix it up a little this year to try and keep everyone happy. Nice job GP

Shhh.... Don't let the free parking information get out and we'll have the mountain to ourselves.

Song and Lab are offering $25 lift tickets on Saturday when showing a GP or Tog. season pass. Those guys don’t miss an opportunity.

Song passes went on sale today for $409 less 15% when showing a GP pass. Where I feel they have a slight advantage is when it comes to family passes. A couple could, pick up two Song passes for $720 less the 15% (if one has a current GP pass). GP charges $900 for two. Song also renewed their relationship with Okemo, so those two days are worth about $200.

I don't get this. I mean I get it, but I don't.

It's called dirty pool.

Imagine being a long time Song pass holder knowing that new pass holders are getting a 15% cheaper pass than you.

The question for me is where will I get better skiing?  I skied at Song once a very long time ago. The time on the lift didn't offset the quick time down the hill.  Same with Toggenburg.  I skied there a couple of years ago when I had to kill time in Caz.  Not a fan of either Song or Tog.

Plus, there's the convenience factor. It's half an hour, tops, to GP and around an hour to either Song or Tog.

I think that GP does a great job.  Skiing is not cheap.  However, when you break down the season pass to today's 23rd day of skiing, I have paid $19.59 a day for a couple of hours of fun.  I pay $45 for a 30 minute lesson with my dressage (horse) trainer. Skiing is cheap in comparison.  :)

GP is a far more diverse mountain to ski than Song, Lab, or Tog. I can't say that GP does a far better job than the other three, but I certainly wouldn't drive the distance I do to ski anything other than GP. Yes, I also have a place at Killington, but that's not comparing apples to apples, and people do have their share of gripes about Killington.

I don't want to presume anyone's finances, but we're talking $450 for a GP pass versus $347 for a Song pass.  In terms of a couple, they're looking at $900 for GP passes versus $612 for Song.  In all honestly, if I lived in the area, and only skied CNY, I'd likely get passes for GP and Song, which would then afford me four local ski areas, and two days at Okemo.

Spartan Race today --- drove by this AM and it looked super organized, ready for the masses. This thing brings them in by the 1000's. Good on ya GP

According to their website they truly DID raise the price of their season passes. I can't believe they did that. Bush League stuff right there imo. There's gonna be some noise over this, and I can't blame long time season pass holders for being pissed right the fuck off.

I'm so glad I bought a sled.

The Spartan race does not look like fun.  They were going through the creek whilei it was snowing.

Chair 5, however, was super fun. 😁

Cornhead and I were able to park for free at a friends townhouse, for the day. Trax was crowded. Got in line at the welcome center at 7:50 am. for the seasons pass - was 8th person in line. Bought the Greek and Toggenburg combo pass for $475... because a Tog seasons pass has discounted lift tickets at Windham, Plattekill, SnowRidge and Bristol. However I see Tog has suddenly deleted the mention of the Tog pass perks. HOWEVER I have a copy of the Perks:

Obviously now a TOP SECRET, that they don't want anybody to know about:
(well this years Toggenburg seasons pass perks)

AwGeeThanks.  :)  Actually, what every hill needs is a dude with a sticker on his helmet proclaiming that he was in the 80 and over club, proclaiming that the conditions were "Awesomely good!" :)
