My guess is it's lunch for the wait in such an organized line.

Haha! That and maybe some books? You could certainly catch up on some reading standing around so much.

WTF happened?  When was this? Last weekend?

I think I'd have gone back to the condo and/or gone for the hot tub jacuzie instead of waiting on that line!

How about this from Mount Baldy just outside Los Angeles. The recent big storm combined with Xmas week and their notoriously unexpeditious ticket system resulted in this. Allegedly, there were another 50+ people behind the guy who took the pic: 2+ hours to buy a day pass.

You could literally get more runs in by doing skin laps all day and have your ticket purchase cash for apres beers when you’re done.

This stuff is seriously getting out of hand.

Too many people.

So let's take extreme examples - like Mount Snow losing two lifts to lighting strikes during a holiday week, when lots of ski areas are barely open due to the conditions that have generally been shit over the past couple of weeks, and use it to represent some normalized state of operation and declare it a huge problem. Perfect. It is the internets after all.

Camp - you'll excuse anything at GP, we get it. You don't ski, and if you did you're cool with whatever happens. The lift line - omg it's such a small thing but SO EASILY SOLVABLE, which is why some people bitch about it a lot.

Question Camp - how are you going to feel when Greek changes owners again? I'm betting it happens before 2022 btw. Write that down.

Insane crowding is happening all over ski country, ask any front rangers, LCC regulars or Squaw locals. Heck, they turn back the Phoenix folks here at 10 AM on busy days now.

Multi-mountain pass products are consolidating skiers at certain hills.

Seems like the right answer to me. And this trend is being driven by the escalating cost of a window ticket.

The closing of mom and pop operations and more extreme weather patterns related to a shifting climate aren’t helping either. Tie in social media and storm chasing and Kapow! Instent shit shows.

I know, right?

I guess they’ve been getting the snow while the rest of BC has been mostly dry.

Take a hike in the woods and come back after the holidays.
I would not be surprised if resorts start offering premium tickets that get you through a special gate at the lift and priority in line. Hell - Disney has gotten away with that. I know they already have early access passed, so it’s not far off if it hasn’t already happened.

Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.
