Heard from a very reliable source that the asshat gave his lift ticket to some guy in the parking lot and got into a car and drove away.  The witness didn’t come forward until Monday the day before the guy showed up in Cali.

I thought maybe the scanning system would indicate that he was still at the mountain... maybe throw authorities off the trail.
