USGA screws the pooch again

Watched the end of the Women's US Open

Playoff ends with a penalty that this time the USGA took too long to tell the girls about.  In a playoff they could have stopped play at the next tee and got it right.

no bogeys at all in the final   two tremendous scores 65 and 63 , i think it was the best round of championship golf i have seen  bundles of birdies , eagle. Dayum  !!

Forgot Henrik bogeyed the very first hole , but had 10 birds and a 63 , great performance for the new British Open Champion

I'll echo --- what an AWESOME golf match. There should be 2 trophy's for that incredible display of golf.


I like watching the British Open so much more than the US Open. The US Open has become more of a torture chamber for these guys. USGA sets that course up hard AF. Certainly the British Open can be that way as well but usually that only happens when the weather is nasty.

Once again my man Phil is runner up. hard to imagine being 17 under in a major and coming in 2nd  

we were about a foot away from a Vanderveldain revisit on 18 if Stenson's ball would have went in that trap

Man that was the ultimate meltdown. That dude folded like Samsonite.

Now that I'm playing more my game is starting to come around. Played 9 over the weekend. Was 1 under thru 5, that's the good news. The bad news is I ended up shooting a 42. Made a bad swing off the tee on a par 4 that resulted in a triple, and had a chipping incident on an elevated green on a par 5 that resulted in a triple as well . No worries tho --- baby steps  Getting more and more confident in this bad wheel of mine with each round. Going to see the "other Pro" tomorrow to pick up my new M2 driver --- KABOOM

Could the amount of beer consumed affected your chipping incident late in the 9.  How many beers in was that?

When I have had even one beer at an outing I loose my short game feel first.  

Nah, only had 2 beers. I've been a notoriously bad chipper for a long time so that's nothing new. It was simply a total lack of concentration. I was getting greedy in trying to hit it tight (i was short sided) to go birdie-birdie on the card. If I was playing a tourney my mindset would've been just get it on the green and 2 putt for par. I was trying to show off for my girlfriend

Nothing worse than being short sided.  Tough to get up and down from there.

Two beers and my golf game goes to hell.  I'm not a small guy but you are bigger for sure.

Johnny Miller, who I think is a douche, called Tiger's back issues more than 20 years ago. Must admit that's impressive stuff.

Thankfully Johnny can no longer talk about being the only guy to shot 63 to win a major.  

Tiger messed himself up lifting too much and running in combat boots with a loaded pack.  At the same time his swing coach was teaching a swing that put more pressure on his bad knee and back.

Funny how you can't seem to have everything all A game at once.  I shot an even par 71 tonight on LP Club Links.  Drove the ball great except for one I pulled left that cost me a stroke.  My short irons were off but my chipping and putting were great.  Finally got my putting feel back after about 3 weeks I made nothing.

Hope to keep putting like this.

 How many strokes does he give you?  IMO stroke play sucks for players of different abilities.  Match play with HCP applied is much more fun.

None --- only pussy's get strokes

Racer and I have a blast shootin golf together ---- it's about the beers, the laughs and good times. He helped with my t-ball too  

Keep telling yourself that.  Hey you know what would be fun.  Lets go race Bode Miller straight up.  I mean getting a head start would be a pussy move.  That is a dumb move not taking strokes.  Why even keep a ghinn then?   Pro you got to talk some sense into Campi, unless you are one of people taking candy from the baby.
