It means I'm skiing with Glade.  He coined that term.  He calls meeting people at the mountain and skiing with them a ski off.
If You are looking at Glade as your ski mentor, I think your family needs to do an intervention.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

Lil' Snobro,

About this so-called "Ski-Off" @ Gore, Saturday 2/11/17 with this Gladerunner fellow,  tell us more...

Is it Gaper-friendly?  Is it open to inquiring mimes?

Do any participants have Orders of Protection Judgements against them (or in process!)?

Can any read a Compass, or even identify one?

For safety's sake, what's your take on the Right to Arm Bears?   Might be a Grizzly about, just saying.

These are the questions one must answer for themselves before entering the alternative reality that everything you know is wrong.

Where and when is aforementioned "Ski-Off" happening?

If you ask us nicely, we'll show up, shoot some ripping video to be reviewed during the 5:00PM Apres-Shot-Ski Line-Up in Tannery.

Ski You On The Hill.

99% sure the phrase predates NYSB.

The 2 ski schools I worked for both used that when they determined who could wear their jacket on the upper mountain.  That predates the Internet. ....or at least the widespread use thereof.

A little soft groomed on top of a lot of firm groomed/variable conditions.  Some soft mixed with crust at the edges.  Not the worst day ever, but it's not nearly as fun a day as one would like.  Any day skiing is a good day skiing, and at least we're skiing.

Heck of a ice crust up top, underneath a couple inches of fluff.  Definitely not the same 1/4in rain crust down low as up high.  Run of the day (closed unfortgunately) is Upper Mac, and the woods of Upper Mac are nice.  A good 4-5-6 inches of light pow on top of a manageable crust.

Do not, I repeat....DO NOT go into the woods off of closed trails, especially by yourself.  That's a very bad choice.

After poking around this afternoon, it's not gonna take much to get the mountain back.  They need to open up certain trails so they can be skier groomed.  I understand opening "to the lowest common denominator", but there's stuff that's not open that should be open.

Geez.  This trip report makes me feel a bit better.  Was supposed to do Whiteface today and tomorrow, but came down ill.  Seems like it's Iceface today.  Good news is, there's a TON of snow in the next 5 days.
Can we get SOME snow?  Please?

Ironically......once I stopped skiing the open, groomed trails I had a really good time!  Really, they did a great job grooming in what they had.  Even though it's currently eh!, it will only get better.  They are making snow on some trails, and Parkway was a blast.  And for strong skiers willing to be adventurous, it's not as bad out there as I thought it would be.  The 9-14 tomorrow through Monday will do wonders.  It's all good.

Nice gunpow on Parkway and Mt Run.  LWF and Freeway both closed due to staffing issues which sucks, although there isn't much of a line for the gondola.

According to a snowtribe member, Upper Mac and LBO are next on the snowmaking list.  That leaves only Upper Cloud, one can only hope.

Parkway is awesome.  Accessing it without Freeway open is not.  Neither is all of Lookout being on hold for grooming when they're only working on Hoyt's.

WF will be in great shape for president's weekend being at or close to 100% open.  Hopefully Upper Cloud is opened with this storm.

Thanks.  I liked my old one better, but I needed a better way to remind people that I'm not from New Jersey.
