Whiteface Conditions (2017 - 2018)

 Empire was awesome...jumped in right behind the facebook photography ...had no idea who she was and just blew by her...only one set of tracks ahead of me...first run of the day.. first run at Whiteface this year...sometimes you just get lucky ...went to shit quick I heard...all the closed trails skied well too...top never opened and was in an icy cloud all day...I would have liked to skin to the top to check it out but ski buddys didn't have skins...summit might be great tomorrow

 Summit never opened ...heard icing was the problem and they were starting to clear it manually rather than waiting for it to melt so hopefully it runs tomorrow...bring skins ...I'll be at Gore

There's a lot of snow and Whiteface could go another week.

It looks like Feb from the parking lot in terms of coverage.  Hoping I can get on Cloudspin.  31 at base so things will soften.

Not really sure about the lift plan for the weekend.  Today they're reporting gondola, facelift, summit.  Tomorrow they say they're going to close the gondola and run Little Whiteface.  I'm super happy they're going to do that tomorrow.    not really sure why they didn't do it today though.  Cheaper to run LWF which has more capacity and more enjoyable to ride and ski off of.

Summit Quad broke, Little Whiteface reported open but not staffed or even close to ready.  False reporting strikes again.  Should've gone to Tremblant.

I told almost every skier I knew to come this weekend and Whiteface blew it again.  I feel like I let all those people down that I told to come today.  If they don't open the summit or Little Whiteface lift today I won't be back tomorrow and will be at Tremblant.

They should've told us they weren't going to open the summit rather than saying it would open and doing a bait n switch.  Every time I think it's going to be good they totally screw the pooch.  Waiting for Mtn Run chair to open and that's the only thing that will salvage the day.

Thanks for the intel Sno, I’ll head out with the pack!  40 in the lot and the skins may be useful!

Oh we don't have to open Summit, LWF, or Mtn Run today.  No one will show up.  Screw this mountain and this whole day.

2500 feet of vertical on April 21st, with a 2 minute lift line (if that). Fuck that place, burn it to the fucking ground

That line is way more than 2 minutes because they're not filling cars and running super slow.  It's a total shit show.

Believe it or not I hiked to Draper's from mid.  Corn was nice.  Better than waiting in the gondola line which is even worse now.

Every day is a blessing. I have gotten better at squeezing lemons as Ive gotten older though.

In all fairness to Sno.....I waited in line 4 minutes for my first run.  It looks a little longer now, maybe 5 or.....no, wait.  Sno’s gonna blow a gasket, Gondola is down!!!!  Just sent peeps away, lift stopped with people on.  I guess it’s an early Bloody for me!

Me, I just spent the last hour doing a little work....if I could post pics on this shitty WiFi I’d show you!  Cloud was well worth the 45 minute skin!  Definite magic shell crust up there, and a light on your feet day, but a solid 4 to 5 inches on crust.

Ok, maybe a few will go through....

I’ll fix those later.  Gondola moving but not loading.

I hope Gore is good....because the groomers here are butter!

Gondola broken.  It just keeps getting better!!  Maybe they'll open LWF now I'm addition to Mtn Run.

He's the most negative guy I've ever seen...well read. Talk about a glass half-empty guy.  I mean life is great...and when you're skiing it's even greater.  Sno, you've got to learn to let things roll off your shoulders at least a little.

Gondola back open and Mt Run still open.
Not much of a line for the chair.  They're trying to get LWF open now.  I'm pretty happy lapping the 4 trails off the Mt Run chair and I got to film the lift which I can rarely do on it.
