I'm just finishing up a Killington now and then heading home. I saw the $5 GP ticket mentioned somewhere so decided to skip Greek until next weekend. I'm hoping chair five will be open by then.

Good choice…it looked insane. Never heard of those kinds of promos being run on a weekend. Really should have been front page on the website…or a courtesy email to season pass holders.

Yes, having a discount promotion of that magnitude on a Sunday in January doesn't send a good message to full-paying customers or season pass holders. I understand the marketing departments intent, but save it for a weekday or other non-peak time.

I can be fairly certain that HLL guests spending $1K for the weekend may not have been thrilled to wait in the purported 30 minute lift lines behind $5 ticket holders.

Glad I missed that shitshow, this is the first I've heard of this promotion. I'd be pissed if I dropped $64 to be part of that. Looks like I picked a good day to ski elsewhere, dumb luck.

Yeah, it was friggin crazy, real crazy around there yesterday. On top of the 5 dollar day they had a race right in the middle of lower Illiad, totally insane. Seems like everyone who had 5 bucks and a pair of skis showed up, I heard they sold 1500 passes for $5, and I believe them!!  I will echo that the peeps who paid full-boat for the weekend must have been pissed, I know I would've been. We were talking at the bar that next time the run a promo like this maybe they should star the 5 dollar day at noon giving pass holders and HLL guests the morning to let em rip. The human slalom wasn't fun, and imo was down right dangerous to be out there. That said, I know a SP told us that when he left at 2:30 there hadn't been one accident up to that point, which was good news and very surprising.

That's the down side......good news was 1500 people got to ski GP with some of the best conditions of the year as the overall snow conditions were the best I've seen all year. As well as they had to make some bank at Trax. That place was mobbed too.

My wife and I skied a few hours Monday night - all on Fields/Stoic, Iliad, and Ody. Conditions were excellent packed and cut up powder - looks like they had about three inches Sunday into Monday. It didn't' get soft and mushy like here in Endicott, so things should stay nice for the rest of the week.

As we were leaving around 8:30, pretty sure they were grooming at chair5.

Camp - can't believe you stayed to ski that clusterf-ck on Sunday.

Great night at GP last night! I didn't load the chair until 6:45, I had some running around to do after work. I stopped at CVS to pick up some Sudafed. This is the first time I bought it having to surrender my licence and signature. I think it would've been easier to score the end product of the meth cooks. Any decongestant properties in meth?

Anyway, I skied the first hour on all the open trails, everything off chair 1, 2 and 4 didn't spin. Greek claimed 4", that's seemed about right, maybe a tad more. At 8:00 I decided to swap my skis for my rock skis and checkout Olympian. I had regretted not skiing it in the early season when it had a good 8" on it. It was great, heavy snow, but so shallow, it wasn't cumbersome. I made 3 laps on it before close and skied right to my car.

Skiing Olympian in the dark, with 4" of snow, with no base? Or considering meth as a decongestant?

With lift openings we were able to stay ahead of the masses until 10:30ish ----- chair 4 was pretty much ski on until then

We helped them take the bar stools down that day

Olympian with 4 inches at dark.  But, if you did that on meth you'd be really core.

I love it.  You can't say you haven't been warned with a sign like that.

I poached Marathon last night!!!

Not really got scared at the last minute and backed out

Greek skied well last night things looking up for sure. It was a busy night for them,so that was good.
Not sure if schools were present but did smell woman's perfume in locker room so I suspect there was.

I see the light pole is still leaning. Do any employees actually notice these things?

Re: Greek Peak Conditions

They didn't in 1980 so why should anything be different now?? Besides, you just don't "straighten" a pole. It takes work. My guess is, at this point, a leaning pole isn't very high on the to do list.
