Stowe charges what the market will bear; what the hell else is it supposed to do?  You don't have to ski there - just like you can buy a Chevy rather than a Volvo. The only thing that explains Powderass's indignation is class resentment.  I don't do class resentment and I never have; life's too short.

$100+ bucks sucks but disagree with PowAssX2 that's theres no value. It's always been a pricey ticket but best combination terrain and snow (ding ding winnerwinner chikn dinner!) imho in NVT. Got all the amenities to boot so yea it a premium mountain. Admittingly Ive never been to jay, never saw reason to drive past stowe. that brutal drive for me is probably whats kept me from skiiing there more than ticket price

I just don't have the time to be PowAssassin, so I farmed the job out to cheap labor in India.

Face4Me wrote
Harvey, you should have a contest, whoever gets the 1,000,000th view gets a free ticket to Stowe!!!
That number of views at the bottom of the page is weird. It only shows the number of views of that specific page.  Total pageviews since the forum was launched (June 2010) is around 5.5M, The forum is maybe half of that, so 1,000,000 is long gone.

So that gets me off the hook for buying an expensive stowe lift ticket.

I'm with Petronio, someone post a TR, maybe some grass skiing or fly to South America.

Sno,

Gorgonzola stated it pretty well above. I don't care about amenities whatsoever. I'm pretty sure they have them but from the moment I buy a ticket until the day is done, I'm eating clif bars and pb&j's at Stowe. I dig the terrain there. It's a once a few seasons treat because I think it's a great (but expensive) mountain. I'm usually there midweek when there are no lines (unless it's a pow day, the locals come out untill ten and it opens at 8am every day). High speed lifts carry you to the top of each area to ski, and two of the three serve 2k+ vertical (one might not be hs, can't recall, not the best terrain on that side). If you're going to ski on your parents dime, I'd highly recommend going there over Stratton. It's like Whiteface, you look up and think "That is a mountain". When I look up at Stratton, all I think is "Why am I not at Magic?"

Pow,

Your arguments are so full of holes I can't poke at them anymore. You've never been to Stowe but it sucks, you've seen it on a webcam. Do you know everything about sex from watching pornography? Can you hit a baseball 450 feet because you saw Barry Bonds do it 73 times in a season?  Should I go on and on with this analogy?

Rather than just spouting off like you're some sort of expert (which you're obviously not) and telling everyone that disagrees with you that they're industry shills, can you chill? I'd stop calling you a moron (I apologize for that, btw). Otherwise, I guess this stuff is pretty entertaining and I'll continue to laugh at every one of Noah's replies to you.

I won't lie, I'm not a big fan of all this nonsense, however, I do keep coming back specifically for NJ's posts ... I still can't stop laughing at that one from last week ...

No, but I can tell barry bonds is a good baseball player. It's called common sense.

I don't need to ski stowe to know it's outrageous to charge over 100 bucks for a lift ticket.

Hey anyone reading this....just look at how hard they're trying to defend a 100+ lift ticket as not being outrageous. They're cursing me out and calling me a dickhead over it. THat should tell you all you need to know. If I was that off the wall you know damn well they wouldn't be getting that bothered over it. They'd just laugh and ignore.

Thank you and come again!

Funny how you try and spin everything to your liking. Nobody is defending lift ticket prices. Some people, like me, just don't care, so how is that defending their prices??

As for the dickhead remark, you're the only one that I've seen call yourself a dickhead. That said, I've seen cock holster (laughed just typing that) used

Campy said it:  Nobody's "defending" anything.  We just don't care.  But you really do care -  Deeply. it truly bothers you that:  A. Stowe charges what it does; and B. People are seemingly willing to pay what Stowe charges.   Why do those things bother you so much?

My ass you don't care. Would you really apply this much time defending stowe and making your assinine arguments if you didn't care? Wouldn't any sane person just pass by the thread or at most make one post? Riiight. Just like you don't care that NVT doesn't get as much as out west and that in my opinion they exaggerate.

You just gave yourself up right there buddy boy. Now go get your ski blades waxed and your pink ski suit dry cleaned for next year buddy

I called you "cock holster", "bed wetter" and "fucking idiot" if memory serves.  I don't think I ever called you "dick head" because that's sort of boring but I may have.  I reserve the right to call you other things in the future based upon my mood and your posts.  Mouth-breather.

Nobody is getting angry at you for thinking that one specific ski area is priced too high for you.

The reason I don't like you is that you're constantly wrong, you don't seem to possess any reading comprehension skills, your argument style is bullshit, you're not entertaining or funny, and you have absolutely no reason for almost every single post you make. You don't further conversations or add any new insights, your whiny pipsqueak voice (that I assume you have) comes across in your posting, and you offer opinions that have very little credibility because they aren't based on personal experience (apparently, your opinions are based on YouTube videos and some stuff you read on EpicSki).

Nowhere in your rambling, incoherent statements do you come anywhere close to anything resembling a useful forum post. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
