coach have you tried the jumbo grip on the putter? it helps with the lite grip. it took two weeks to get used to, but i also chopped a 1/2 inch off my putter at the same time so not sure if that was an adjustment also.

sweet!

Gets tougher in the fall since I can't play after work with the shorter days.

One tip I got last fall from my pro is to go to a softer ball when it's starts getting cold.  I'm a Bridgestone guy so normally I play the RX330 but in the fall go to the E6

So I'm at a graduation party earlier this summer. I'm talking to my cousin, who is a really good golfer, and I tell him that I regret never learning how to play now that I have time on my hands. He says it isn't too late and he'll teach me. I say ok thinkin this probably is party talk and might not happen. He calls me on Monday and we start going to Shaker Country club (where he is a member) twice a week. Anyway I love it, he hooked me up with deals on clubs and I play or practice 4 or 5 times a week. I wish I started years ago...he gave me a great gift. I'm an old dog learning a new trick and it is fun.

Great to hear you are taking the game up.  It's a great game.  There is a very zen thing about golf that helps me relax.  You have work to get to that point though.  Find a good pro and take some lessons.  Jim at LP Club and Jeff at Criagwood both are excellent.

Did a 9 hole practice session after work today.  I play at LP Club where you can get a membership to thier 3 courses for under 800.

Let me know if you guys want to play.

WOW...I'm new to all this, but that seems like a great deal.

It's an incredible deal!  If you pay before March 1 you save like 75 bucks as well.  If you walk you don't pay another dime.  To ride is 18 bucks.  It's an ok workout 18 holes is 6 to 7 miles on the links course depending on how straight or crooked you hit it of course.  With 4 sets of tees you can make the courses as easy or hard as you want.

They have a nice short 9 hole course which is perfect for you starting out as well.  I think you could get a membership just to the Pristine 9 for $200 which for you first year could be a really nice option.  It has 2 par 4 and 7 par 3 of all different distances so you hit a lot of different clubs.  And it only takes about an hour to play making it perfect for after work.

Had the first tee time on the Mt course this morning at Lake a Placid Club.

Shot a even par 70 with two birds and an eagle.  The eagle was on 14 which is a 245 yard uphill par 4.  My drive hit the pin but didn't drop and ended up about 6 feet.  Drained the putt.  Would have been awesome to have my first hole in one on a par 4 but it didn't happen.

Finished my last round of the season with the hip replacement surgery scheduled for this coming monday . Shot a 39/41 /80 for 18  which after 40 rounds is 1 under my season average . All in all not bad for 72 on a bad hip all season . Happy to keep improving .

Now comes the biggest mental challenge . Not being able to ski this season ,while i am busy rehabbing the hip will make me antsy . Guess we'll be going to lots of SLU hockey games and flicks this winter .
