UGH!! the Big Easy got the yips on #1 at The Masters yesterday. While painful to watch, anyone whos played the game has had similar happen. If you haven't it's either A. you haven't played enough golf yet, or B. you are a liar

I'm good at lag putting and good within 3 feet
It's those 5-6 footers that kill me

That was painful to watch. If it was any other tournament he may have decided he was injured at walked off.  The rest of that round had to be a nightmare on every green for Ernie.

I saw that this morning.  I was going to take him in my pool, I took Angel instead.   I also took Fowler.  When he banged if off that tree on his second shot of the day I was pissed.   HA you think he was more upset than I was?

What a wacky year.  I should be banging the range at this point.  Its been miserable around here.  Got my new sticks.  g-2.  Hit them a few times, first new set in 15 years.  I can say that all the hype about new clubs is mostly just that. I can still shank them with the best of them.

NO WAY! Ernie has WAY too much class to walk off during any tourney.

That shot comes in handy at times....too bad you just never know when it's gonna happen.

You must mean "new to you". Those irons came out in 2003...

Not that there's anything wrong with that. They are still a good product.

LOL...I don't think Coach was referring to lagging from 3 feet!
From watching that video maybe Ernie should have been trying to lag..

Does anyone know why they later changed his score from a 10 to a 9?

TV commentators were wrong (shocker), he only 6 putted and signed his card with a 9 on it.

The Joust.  That was fun.  I got taken out on that one.  they did away with that must have been two much fun.

My divits are across the ball from the outside in (30%).  Willing to put in the time to correct it but cant figure out how.  Any training aids out there you could point me to.

You never feel more alone than when you are playing in an individual stroke play and that happens....Worst feeling EVER!
It's hard to ignore that little guy on your shoulder whispering in your ear every time you face a similar putt. I'm sure Ernie was shitting his drawers for the rest of his round!!

Scary isn't it

I think it's a good thing the WF crew and the A18 Gang are separated by a 5 hr drive ---- if not I think jail time would be involved

First I would look at your setup and make sure your ball position isn't too far forward (toward your front foot).
Then I would look at your swing timing. My guess is that you are probably casting the club from the top. This happens when your downswing is started with your hands and causes your hands and arms to move away from your body and then come back to the ball which results in cutting across as you describe. Watch when they show the pro's swing sequence and notice how close their arms are to their body at impact. They are able to do this because their hips have cleared and made room for their arms to move through in the proper position. Also note that their hands don't start the downswing but instead follow.
That's my best guess but I would be happy to take a look at you if you are ever in the Syracuse area this season..
