I am not so worried about eye contact if I keep my distance from folks. Where I am the air is pretty clean. In teh city there are a lot of microplastics in the air, that's a big difference. But I do wear glasses all the time, if I were in the city I'd consider side shields.

Good on you Campster.
Man - the unemployment thing is depressing seeing as you are one to believe in self sufficiency. We could end up with a mortgage crisis after this as well.

Thanks Honestly I feel very fortunate I can do this for them. That said I'm not doing anything for them that any one of you guys wouldn't do for yours if you could. |

I called our the company who holds the mortgage for the building for our company. I asked them to cut us a break.
I was really surprised, without much discussion they offer us two options: • No payments for two months • Interest only for three months I mentioned this to a friend who, like all of us, is concerned and he was able to get some relief too. Call the bank that holds your debt, see if they will cut you some slack.

I guess I don't know much about running a business. Do small businesses often carry a lot of debt? I know large corporations do (because they can borrow cheaply), but I don't know how much debt the average small business has. |

Jason thanks. Our overhead is 75% wages so while the mortgage relief is helpful our big problem is staff. Close to 100k per month for salaries. Thats going down to 38k today or tomorrow.
MC our only debt is out building, payment is about 4k per month. We have a 400k line of credit that we haven't touched. Zelda... not looking good this am symptoms seem to line up, trying to get her a docs appt. Also really appreciate you guys/girls. Got a bank meeting now, will check in later.

I have no words for any of this pain other than this :
You are ALL good people , you are strong both mentally and physically from years of prepping for this sport . One cannot be either weak of mind, body or spirit to DO this sport . That strength and the mental toughness and perseverance it requires will be key to adapting to whatever comes our way . You WILL get thru this , it may be a much different environment but in a skiing analogy no run is ever the same twice , it changes and you adapted , You have your families and THANKS to Harv , we all have EACH other and that my friends is a very strong thing in our favor to have others in our network who have a bond . This thing WILL not beat us , if we remain strong mentally , do whatever we can to adapt , find whatever gives us inner peace be it faith , be it service , be it community . Personally , i will have all my virtual friends AND my family and the courageous first liners in all fields of endeavor in my prayers . Peace to you all WD

Smaller business no doubt are experiencing more profound impacts from the financial side of this crisis. I can’t imagine how hard it is for Harvey (and others) to have to dismantle businesses they have poured their hearts and souls into, with uncertainty as to when or if business will ever be back to “as usual”. Or for people to be outright laid off, not knowing when or if they will be called back. You all have my sympathies.
What’s happening in Corporate America? $2.5b revenue with 7,000 US employees.....in my company, in addition to other measures (hiring freeze, ban on travel, pushing off internal projects, limit on Capex expenditures, and general belt tightening), probably 10% of our staff will be hit by either a reduction in force, a reduction in hours, or a temporary pay cut. That includes the Executive Leadership team taking a 20% pay cut through June, with other senior management taking a 15% pay cut over the same period. For now, I’m happy to “only” be looking at a $10k pay cut. Compared to others I know it could be much worse. At least April is one of my “3 paycheck” months, so that will mitigate some of the short term impact.

Keep a sharp eye on her. She is in the high risk category, you may not be vulnerable and have little to no symptoms. I had a nagging deep cough for 2 weeks and shortness of breath for about a day back in Jan/Feb. I went to NYC in January, then to Utah. After two weeks in NYC while I was in Utah I developed the cough and lots of thick drainage. This lasted for about 12 days and turned into a sinus infection that went away quickly. From talking to people they think I might have already been through this but I am not counting my chickens.

I would think about pulling that line and put it in a the bank account..in another bank. If the bank gets in trouble they can shut it down. If the money is already out they cant shut down what they don't have

Sorry to hear of the the news Harvey and all, prayers and +++vibes++ for health and patience for all to get through this

Interesting story P: My wife and I were very very sick in January with a similar thing , really nasty heavy coughing with discharge and mild increase in temp achy . I was sleeping in a recliner cuz i was coughing incessantly hard to keep one's breath
Felt really nasty i had it first tried several home remedies for a week ended up goung to doc 2nd week gave me a Z pack ( one of the things being considered now ) . MY wife caught it from me and went thru same exact synptoms and also got Zpack ..it eventually subsided but it was pretty bad . I have been wondering exactly the same thing you stated BUT do not want to assume anything . Still masked up went to grocery store today she went in i satyed outside in the car UNTIL We loaded tge trunk . She zipped thru in 20 minutes wearing mask and surgical gloves , no one ner her in the ck out lines at all . We have out FIRST confirmed case Today here .looks lie mosy evwry county is experiencing the progression Stay safe guys !

One way or the other let's just hope we don't become part of the problem. It would be great if we already have the antibodies but lets keep up the precautions.

Today was awful, the saddest day so far. We were down to 15 employees this morning, now we are 8, including 2 owners. The 6 remaining employees were cut by 20%, two owners by 40%. My partner and I started with the easiest calls first, the pay cuts.
Of the six where we cut pay, five were gracious and understanding. To a person, they said they understood why we had to act and that they were grateful that they were still working. The other person asked for time to respond. When she got back to us, it was an email, possibly written by a lawyer. We asked each employee to go about their work without discussing with other employees, we wanted each employee to hear the bad news from us. Then we called the employees we are laying off. We are using something called a temporary layoff, which allows us to continue paying for their health insurance, about $870 a month per person. Here we also started with the "easier" calls first. Some people are married with spouses with good, reasonably secure jobs. One employee still lives with her parents. Others are on the edge. One of our youngest, a writer, I'll call her Constance... god I can barely type this. This girl has been busting her butt, learning new skills to try to make herself as valuable as possible. Helping me with SEO, proofreading, blog editing, email coding, taking out the garbage. When we hired her she lived close by, but a year ago she move into Philly into a tiny apartment. It's admittedly hard to meet single people in our area and she was hoping that by moving to the city she might meet a boy. She was so brave, but at the end she said, I'm all alone with no one to help me. God this sucks. Thanks for listening.

Sucky day. I remember in the dot comm bust when I had to lay off most of my company I had a few irate employees, I would look for bombs under my car for weeks - no shit. Some people are crazy. Cut the bitch and don’t take her back, find anyway you can to bring back the others. Apparently the big package will give laidoff employees full pay.
