Gore reporting 11 inches, plus the 6 inches from Sunday plus the 20 inches from last week.  Building a great base....Stowe is reporting a record base with 100 on the ground near the summit.

Amazing day.   Twister glades.   3 laps of Sagamore.   Fresh lines each run.  Then the trifecta of glades.  Barkeater.  Boreas.   Cirque.  Then Tawhawas Glades to the Saddle for a quick break.

Everything is better when it snows!

It was a rare bluebird powder day in the Adirondacks. Everything was good.

Trying as hard as I can to go tomorrow. Have work travel Sunday (of course prob best conditions of the year), so going to try for tomorrow to make up for it even though work is doing all it can to keep me from going. If I go, going to have to take a couple meetings and calls from the base lodge.

I've seen people bring laptops and work from the lodge before. Any tips on a place to stash a laptop somewhere? Could get a locker obviously but have left my boot bag around and never had any trouble.

I have never had any trouble with my thin Lenovo thinkpad.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

Gore skied great today.
Got to Mountain at 9 or so and was still below zero after -17F in Hinckley on the way up.
Best runs for me were twister, echo and tahawus  wild and fox lairs and my favorite showcase. Never made it up top as snow was super on lower mountain.
Skied till 4.
My friend who went with me kept lapping powder pass while I lapped Tahawaus which was loaded with snow.
Lifts ran fine all day we were on. A lot of smiles on peoples faces with a blue bird day.

I spent pretty much the whole day on Burnt Ridge.  First tracks on Sagamore was unreal. The whales are pretty much groomed out and the cord, with all that natural snow was insane. After two of those it was Barkeater which was better than Boreas or Abanaki.  I never tried Cirque.

Very good skiing today.

Nice!

So, what’s my call for tomorrow Harvey?  Platty, or Gore (w/+1 hr drive time)?

That was our second run on Sagamore.  The first was absolutely virgin, and I didn't have it in me to stop and shoot.  It's pretty rare that I rip 1500 vert without pulling up. FKNA!

On paper, both are fully open, but of course Gore is bigger. The snow is deeper at Gore and a greater percentage (100%) of the trees are in.

Plattekill's trails will be sweet tomorrow, and I'd bet there are still lines to be found, moreso than Gore. Plus also, Plattekill is Plattekill.

Couldn't go wrong either way.

If you end up at Gore, there is about a 50/50 chance I'll grab first chair at the bowl. If I don't do that, I ski nordic here, it is sweet in our woods. I think I am headed back out now.

What kind of answer it that?

You were supposed to read my question, and your gut response would be “dude, you gotta be at ________ tomorrow!”

I trust you Harvey!  I don’t think anyone will get mad at you if you take a side?

Sheesh.

Do you care more about T2B trees?

Park at the bowl and ski Burnt Ridge. That's the best I can do to simulate Plattekill at Gore.

I'm going outside.
