Kinda cool sitting in your stand listening to the POW guns.
They've been hammering that hill. Should be decent today.

I was the human glazed donut. Odyssey was the trail to ski early. The guns were off, they would've been blowing into the trees if they had been blowing. The guns were shut down on Illiad and Karyatis by the time I quit 10:30. By then Ma Nature was providing the goggle frosting. Aside from the freezing rain/sleet, the skiing was pretty good.

I didn't even try to make it.  I have been tromping around on my ice spikes all day.  However... SNOW DAY! Cornell has already closed.  If I can make it to GP, I will be there!

What on earth happened to the forecast? Can’t they even predict somewhat accurately 12 hours in advance?

NOAA was calling for snow and pellets today. Freezing rain was most accurate, I had about ⅛ inch of ice on my car windows when I left at 11. Sleet is a good thing before the snow when there's no base. All of Fields and Olympian should be skiable if not tomorrow, by Tuesday.

Two years ago a friend of mine wanted to come from out of town and ski Greek. It was 60° on Friday, I came to Greek expecting soft snow. It was cupped and rock hard. Sleet and freezing rain were forecast overnight. I talked my buddy out of coming for Saturday thinking the conditions would be terrible. Two inches of sleet with four inches of snow on top transformed the mountain. Skiers right on Fields was bare ground on Friday, skied awesomely on Saturday. Who knew? Not I.

As of right now it's not been announced they'll be open Tuesday. Anyone poaching closed trails today would do well to bring rock skis. The stuff that's open should ski great though.

Looks about the same here
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

What do you mean? I thought it went off exactly as the forecast said?

Got out of work a little late to take advantage of the new snow, but some banned member told me it was good.

I also heard it was good.

My buddy hit the Big O, said he never hit bottom. That said, he's pretty light on his skis, I'd hit bottom.

Knee deep along the woods.

Yes, it did. I was thrown by the freezing rain yesterday, as I thought the snow was going to begin earlier. They changed the forecast a number of times, but it ultimately ended as they originally predicted.
